I am thankful to my amazing family and my incredible team for their love and support.
My journey taught me several things, but the most important was that it taught me that I was a much stronger person, physically and mentally, then I ever realized!
On January 2, 2018 I finally heard the words, “We have a heart for you”. I just broke down and cried. I called my wife and daughters and the process began.
Her strong faith in God and great support system is what pushed Amykah to continue to fight because with that combination all things are possible.
As of March 2023, I am almost eight months post op and I am so grateful to both of my donors and their families.
We have been keenly aware of the selfless, anonymous gift that the donor and donor’s family have provided, and are profoundly grateful.
A new heart from a selfless stranger, a mountain of prayers, every loved one involvement, our faith and trust in GOD made this miracle possible.
I soon qualified for transplant, medically, financially, psychologically, and socially and was listed.
