Curtisha Anderson: Life is good
This journey has been long, hard, and rough, but I’m not sure that I would change it.

I am grateful to God and all who participated in my donation, months of prep, surgery, and recovery. They are ALL superheroes. THANK YOU.
I am thankful everyday for the opportunity to be my father’s donor and the dedication and inspiration of those ICU nurses.
I volunteered to be evaluated and when I learned I was eligible to donate, it was truly one of the happiest moments of my life.
I waited in hospital three months and received my heart transplant from a young boy named Matthew. His mother chose to give the gift of life to myself and many others. July 6, 1996 is my rebirth-day.
This journey has been a rollercoaster of emotional highs and lows, and plenty of ups and downs. I am forever grateful to the donor family that selflessly gave my baby girl the gift of life.
