Since I received the gift of life for the second time, I’ve made it my purpose to give back to my community.
I will keep fighting for my life and everyone else who goes through this to help them learn to have a healthier life.
This journey has been long, hard, and rough, but I’m not sure that I would change it.
I volunteered to be evaluated and when I learned I was eligible to donate, it was truly one of the happiest moments of my life.
I’ve been on dialysis for about a year and 6 months on the transplant list. On August 14, I got a phone call saying they want me to come in because they found a match for me.
I had a successful transplant in December 2007. It’s been 13 years and so far so good.
