My path in life took a bit of a twist when I was just 2 years old and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

I am able to share my story because of organ donors and their families who decided to give the gift of life in their saddest hours.

I was an athletic woman, but when my kidneys couldn’t clean my blood, and I started suffering from extreme fatigue, I felt devastated.

The mix of emotions that a parent feels is bittersweet.

After the birth of my twins, I never recovered my good health.

The unselfish act of organ donation is one of the most compassionate things one human being can do for another.
