Stories of hope

Lynn Davis: My second chance at life!

Transplant recipient

I was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes and after 24 years I was told I was experiencing renal failure and would need a kidney and pancreas in about 1 1/2 year. I came really close to needing dialysis. After being placed on the transplant list I received a phone call 1 month afterwards that a match was found. The following day my family and I was told the organs remained outside of the body for too long. I was completely devastated! Four months later, January 22, 2016, I received my second chance at life! I received a double transplant (kidney/pancreas)! I always like to say I am what hope looks like! I am living my second chance at life!
