“After a successful transplant performed by Dr. Amit Sharma on Thursday August 22, 2013, I returned to a normal life. Twelve weeks after my transplant, my son and I completed the 8K as part of the Richmond Marathon. Because of the transplant, I have seen my grandsons grow and in 2016 saw the birth of my only granddaughter. One of the biggest personal changes over the last five years is the volunteer work that I have been able to do including my most recent volunteer position as a UNOS Ambassador.”
