Stories of hope

James & Bridget Dewees: Second chance living

Bridget Dewees

James and I experienced the gift of organ donation in 2018, on our 28th wedding anniversary weekend. After an eight year congestive heart failure journey ending in a 65 day wait in ICU, James received a donor heart. We are an ordinary couple chosen for an extraordinary miracle. We live our lives knowing that everyday is gift! Second chance living means that we give back, be an example and mentor, and most importantly share our story of hope. Our lives are all about impact! James is a minister and I am an educator. We spend our time helping others be the best they can be and this story of hope, faith and love just took us to a higher level. We love sharing strategies and our insights with those on the road to transplant. All things are possible if you believe.
