Radoishka Turbi-Low: New heart equals new hope

Radoishka Turbi-Low

I was 20-years-old when after a routine dental cleaning I contracted endocarditis and required my first open heart surgery. For the following 17 years I lived a very active life. I worked as a professional dancer and eventually had my daughter. That put a lot of strain on my heart and resulted in a second open heart surgery.

I continued being active and eventually found myself unable to participate in my life. On April 28, 2023, I was blessed with a second chance at living a full and active life! I am still on the mend but am beyond excited and thankful for this blessing. I am thankful to my amazing family and my incredible team for their love and support. I am beyond thankful and grateful to my donor and their family for this most humbling gift of life. How does one honor such a gift? By being a better person every second of the day.
