Suzanne Stanley of San Mateo, CA

in 1998, I thought I had a bad case of the flu, but found out it was hep A. The health department said there was an epidemic of hepatitis A from contaminated strawberries. After 10.5 years taking no sick days from work, I went to the doctor who took blood sample and sent me to the hospital. 12 days of coma and many prayers later, a liver came through as they were preparing to say goodbye to me.
Since that time, over 14.5 years ago, my beautiful liver - my gift of life - has behaved itself. Perfect match!
I urge all to read the facts and find out more about the organ donation organizations in your state. It's about life. It's a miracle. It's more of a blessing than I can ever explain. Thank you God. Thank you donor and family. Thank you doctors all. Thank you to my supportive family. My donor is my best friend forever, though I can never meet him.
